The medium to full-bodied 2020 Saint Joseph Blanc was entirely barrel fermented and aged but in mostly four-year-old barrels. A blend of 98% Marsanne and 2% Roussanne, it boasts scents of pear and melon, a lush, creamy feel on the palate and a long, citrusy finish. It makes for a nicely balanced, refreshing wine that's easy to drink young.

The 2018 Saint Joseph Blanc is 100% Marsanne, barrel fermented and aged in used oak. Pear and melon notes pick up slight hints of toasted grain, but the wood influence here is more about texture than aroma and flavor, adding a silky feel to this wine on the medium to full-bodied palate. With a citrusy edge, this wine finishes clean and refreshing. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.

I only tasted one white from Courbis. The 2016 Saint Joseph Blanc is 98% Marsanne and 2% Roussanne, barrel-fermented in fifth use oak. It has some leesy, toasted-grain notes but is otherwise quite rich and full-bodied, with pear and melon flavors and a touch of bitterness on the finish.

A clean, classy and balanced white, the 2014 St Joseph Blanc (almost all Marsanne, with a splash of Roussanne) offers textbook notes of honeysuckle, peach and citrus in a medium-bodied, bright and lively style. It’s ready to go and will drink nicely for 3-4 years, probably longer.

Coming all from Marsanne, the 2013 Saint Joseph Domaine Blanc has pretty apple peal, orange blossom, tangerine and brioche qualities to go with a sweetly fruited, pure, and lively feel on the palate. I don’t think it will make old bones, but it will dish out plenty of pleasure over the coming 1-2 years.
