Le Pigeoulet sports a new label as well as packaging. That is not the only thing that has improved. The wine quality also has increased. The 1998 Le Pigeoulet red is dominated by Grenache, but it includes small quantities of Syrah, Cinsault, and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon. An ideal bistro red, it is a gutsy, robust, peppery offering with abundant quantities of black cherry fruit, little complexity, but a hedonistic, mouth-filling personality. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel (510) 524-1524
