From the younger vines of the estate (which range from 10- to 50-year-old-vines) and 100% Grenache, the 1,000-case 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Prémices is a perfumed, elegant, sweetly fruited effort that has lots strawberries, framboise, licorice and crushed flower-like aromas and flavors. It’s a polished and seamless as they come, and a seriously good effort to drink over the coming 4-6 years.

The 2013 Chateauneuf du Pape Premices comes from the younger vines on the estate (10- to 15-year-old) and terroirs spread throughout the appellation. Aged in 80% concrete and 20% in barrel (larger and older wood), it has pretty raspberry, spice, herbes de Provence and floral notes to go with a medium-bodied, soft, supple and elegant feel on the palate. In a vintage where most wines have a firm, edgy feel and grippy tannin, this has a beautifully textured, sweetly fruited profile that will allow it to drink nicely on release.
