Aromas of fresh pear, lemon oil, crisp peach and oatmeal introduce the 2017 Meursault Les Pierres, a medium-bodied wine with an elegantly textural attack, chewy dry extract and racy acids. It's mostly derived from the lieux-dits Les Tillets and Narvaux.

A blend of two lieux-dits, Les Tillets and Narvaux, the 2016 Meursault Les Pierres has a reserved bouquet with Granny Smith apples and lemon zest, just a hint of wet pasture on a spring morning. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry with a keen thread of acidity, harmonious and smooth with a cheeky hint of white chocolate and almond toward the finish. Not bad at all, more for early than later drinking.

The 2015 Meursault Les Pierres is still a little closed after its recent mise, opening in the glass with notes of pear, hazelnut, oatmeal and crisp peach. On the palate, the wine is similarly tight-knit, with good concentration, chewy extract and nice sappy energy. A classic Meursault, elegantly interpreted.

The 2013 Meursault Les Pierres comes from the Puligny side above Limousin. It has a crisp, more mineral-driven bouquet vis-à-vis its peers that reflects that Puligny nervosité. The palate is balanced with fresh citrus lemon and peach notes, well-judged acidity and plenty of weight on the finish. There are only four barrels and readers should note that they are mostly sold through Winebow in the United States. They’ll be well worth picking up.
