Although La Cabotte’s basic Cotes-du-Rhone left me unmoved, this cuvee is worth commenting on. It’s impressively dark in color, and marked by floral aromas that reflect it’s relatively large proportion (65%) of Syrah. Yet it’s also a bit tough and unyielding on the palate, making me wonder about its future evolution.——J.C.(11/15/2006)—— 86
