The 2020 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses exhibits aromas of dark berries, plums, raw cocoa, spices and peonies, followed by a medium to full-bodied, velvety, lively palate that's a fine follow-up to the lovely 2019.

Opening in the glass with notes of raspberries, orange rind, rose hip and loamy soil, the 2019 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses is medium-bodied, lively and nicely concentrated, with chalky tannins and a perfumed finish. It's especially elegant this year and should show very well after a few years in the cellar.

The 2018 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with a lovely bouquet of cherries, cassis, violets, black truffles and forest floor. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, with a concentrated core of fruit and ripe tannins. This is very attractive.

Aromas of plums, cassis and darker berries mingle with nuances of spices and high-toned kirsch, introducing the 2017 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses, a medium to full-bodied, ample, satiny wine that's fleshy and textural. It's a front-loaded charmer that will drink well young.
