From vines planted in 1999, the 2019 Chardonnay Clos du Soleil Vineyard is scented of white peaches, beeswax, almonds and jasmine with a classy frame of baking spice. The light-bodied palate pairs mouth-coating texture, tangy acidity and flint-laced fruit, and it finishes long and energetic.

The 2018 Chardonnay Clos du Soleil Vineyard is scented of pure quince and roasted almonds with nuances of beeswax and jasmine. The palate is silky and pure with bright acidity and uplifted mineral character on the finish. It feels youthfully coiled and will benefit from more time in the cellar.

The 2016 Chardonnay Clos du Soleil Vineyard has a bright nose of baked red apples and honey-drizzled yellow pears with hints of baby's breath flowers and toast plus a streak of crushed rock minerality. Medium to full-bodied and creamy textured in the mouth, it gives flavors of lemon confit, toast and acacia honey over a core of yellow tree fruits with plenty of freshness, finishing long.

The 2015 Chardonnay Clos du Soleil Vineyard offers up notes of guava, pineapple and apricot preserves with hints of allspice, ginger, honeysuckle and brioche. Medium-bodied with a seductive oiliness to the texture, it delivers intense tropical and baking spice flavors with an oaky undercurrent and plenty of freshness to the long finish.

The 2013 Chardonnay Clos du Soleil is matured in one-third new French oak and spends 14 months in barrel. This has a little more mineralité on the nose compared to the 2013 Clos de Lune, with yellow flower and brioche tincturing the citrus fruit, beeswax emerging with time in the glass. The palate is balanced with a saline note on the entry, moderate weight in the mouth with a slightly resinous finish that lingers in the mouth. This should drink well for several years.
