Laurent's top 1993s are massively concentrated, huge, intense wines that will require 8-10 years of cellaring. There are several wines from the Cote de Beaune that merit significant interest. According to Laurent, the Savigny Les Beaune Les Narbantons was made from 60-year old vines. It exhibits plenty of sweet, briary, berry, peppery fruit, an underlying truffle, earthy note, medium body, good fat and sweetness, and a long, spicy, oaky finish. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 12-15 (an uncommonly long life for a Savigny). A Patrick Lesec Selection (Paris fax # 011 33 1 42843822), various American importers
