Aromas of dark berries, plum skins, licorice, ground cloves and nut shell with wet stone and earthy undertones. Full and structured, very balanced and focused with generous fruit and firm but fine tannins. Layered and refined with freshness and tension. Long finish. Better after 2025.

The 2019 Taurasi (packaged in a heavy glass bottle) shows an inky dark appearance with dark fruit, pressed cherry and Spanish cedar. The wine is not too extracted, and in fact, it feels streamlined on the palate. However, jammy fruit flavors cede to sweetness and tame tannins. This wine is aged in barrique for 12 months and 20,000 bottles were made.

An elegant, medium- to full-bodied red, with supple tannins framing the rich range of plumped cherry, black licorice, bay leaf and espresso notes. This release of some 10,000 bottles is a powerful but well-balanced wine.
