The UNO Chardonnay is a barrel-fermented and aged Chardonnay, which stayed in barrel in contact with the lees for 18 months. The color is a deep golden with a nose of yeast, toasted bread, smoke, hints of honey and roasted nuts with a volatile hint. The palate is full bodied with clear flavors of caramel and toast that end quite bitter and with noticeable alcohol and warmth. It's very ripe, 15.5 % alcohol, with high acidity (7.2 g/l of tartaric acid) and noticeable residual sugar (4.2 grams). It is an XXL, bodybuilder type of Chardonnay. 1,800 bottles produced. To be honest, for that price I can think of a couple of Burgundies I'd buy instead of this and I cannot imagine many people parting with nearly 500€ for a bottle of this...Prices from before the economic crisis.
