The 2009 Pinot Noir Kalita Vineyard displays an alluring bouquet of smoke, Asian spices, floral notes, and red fruits. On the palate it exhibits layered flavors, good density for the vintage, an elegant personality, and considerable complexity. This nicely proportioned effort has enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years and provide pleasure through 2019. Et Fille is a father-daughter partnership between Howard and Jessica Mozeico that began in 2003. They own a small estate vineyard on Parrot Mountain in the Chehalem Mountains AVA with the wines made at August Cellars. Current production is 2400-3000 cases depending upon the vintage.Tel. The 2007 Pinot Noir Kalita Vineyard saw 9 months in 49% new French oak. It offers a similar personality profile to the Nicholas cuvee but it has greater concentration, depth, and weight. This lengthy effort will benefit from 1-2 years of additional bottle age and offer prime drinking from 2010 to 2017. Et Fille, the combined efforts of Howard and Jessica Mozeico (father and daughter, hence the name), produced seven vineyard designated Pinot Noirs in the 2007 vintage but these were the only two I was able to taste.Tel.
