Made with 100% Garganega that sees some oak aging, the 2019 Soave Motto Piane starts off on neutral footing, although the wine reveals unexpected aromatic intensity as it warms in the glass. The real action is in the mouth, where the wine offers a smooth and silky texture with a long finish. It has a lot to give in time. Production is 14,000 bottles.

The Fattori 2018 Soave Motto Piane is fermented in stainless steel and moves over to oak for aging. The wine is luminous and bright with pretty aromas of stone fruit, honey and crushed stone. Fruit comes from a 3.9-hectare site on the volcanic hills of Monte Calvarina. The clusters are left to dry on straw mats, and that's what gives this wine this pretty level of intensity and vertical lift (although the vintage is thinner overall). You can taste the crunch and the flavors of the grape skins. Some 14,000 bottles were made.

Antonio Fattori has produced a beautiful wine in this vintage. The 2013 Soave Motto Piane is a plump and generous expression with summer peach, honeydew melon, apricot and blanched almond. The wine shows rich density and texture, but remains crisp, fragrant and bright at the same time. This is one of the highest expressions of a Soave. After harvest, grapes are dried on straw mats for one month and once the fruit is pressed, it is fermented in stainless steel and aged in oak. This is a well-priced Italian white wine.
