Feudo Maccari’s 2010 Nero d’Avola is an absolutely ridiculous wine for the money. Dark cherries, flowers, licorice and tobacco come to life in this medium bodied, expressive wine. There is more than enough underlying structure to ensure at least several years of exceptional drinking. If this were Burgundy, the price would be twice as high. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.
