Aromas of pear, white flowers and praline, framed by a touch of new oak, preface the 2019 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Veleys Blanc, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and lively wine that's tangy but charming, with good structure and a fleshy core of fruit.

Mingling aromas of pear and peach with hints of wheat toast and almonds, the 2018 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Veleys Blanc is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a ripe core of fruit, lively acids and a charming, open-knit profile. It will drink well young.

The 2017 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Veleys Blanc offers up a pretty bouquet of buttered orchard fruit, beeswax and fresh pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, bright and fleshy palate with succulent acids and chewy extract. It's another successful white from Raquillet.

The 2016 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Veleys Blanc is delicious, wafting from the glass with an inviting bouquet of vine flowers, white peach and waxy lemon rind. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, glossy and textural, with lovely purity and ripe but mouthwatering acids. It's the best white wine I've ever tasted from Fran?ois Raquillet.
