As its name implies, Rosso del Contadino is inspired by the easy-drinking wines that sustained farmers and peasants in a bygone era. Frank Cornelissen’s interpretation offers a sophisticated twist with delicate mineral nuances between the fruit. As an unfiltered and un-stabilized wine, however, you can expect a cloudy appearance and some raw notes on the finish. ——M.L.(12/1/2009)—— 87
