A blend of 60% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot and 10% Ciliegiolo, the Goretti 2016 Colli Perugini L'Arringatore tosses out some leather, tar and dark fruit on its very first pitch. Deeper into the inning, the wine has some barbecue spice and mahogany to keep you off-balance, with toasted oak and very robust red fruit as well. Some dried fruit and cherry confit round out the repertoire. This is a production of about 18,000 bottles to drink up to the 10-year mark.

The 2014 Colli Perugini L'Arringatore is a blend of 60% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot and 10% Ciliegiolo. This is a lean to mid-weight wine that is a bit thin and short in this cold and wet vintage. The wine's intensity is capped somewhere in the middle. However, this easy-drinking red has the freshness and primary purity to pair with white meat or pork. Some 13,000 bottles were made.

L’Arringatore is a 60-30-10 blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Ciliegiolo that boasts a clean modern approach and expert fruit extraction. The nose is sweet-smelling with cherry, almond, blueberry, chocolate and spice and the wine offers a pleasantly approachable intensity of aromas.
