Jadot purchased several cuvees from the Hospices de Beaune in 1988. His best is the Cuvee Nicolas Rolin, named after the founder of the Hospices de Beaune. It is a pure, silky, berry-scented wine exhibiting a generous touch of toasty new oak, and opulent, silky, smooth flavors. It is deceptively easy to drink now, but one suspects, given its weight and structure, that it will age nicely for 10 or more years.
