Schneider's 2021 Niederh?user Hermannsh?hle Riesling Sp?tlese is clear and open on the intense, generously aromatic, slatey and floral nose. Lush, saline and savory on the palate, with a mouthfilling sweetness and stimulating piquancy on the finish, this is a classic Sp?tlese that will improve with bottle age. 9% stated alcohol. The 2020 Niederh?user Hermannsh?hle Riesling Sp?tlese is intense and complex on the dusty/stony and slightly phenolic-scented nose that indicates ripe fruit, floral and honey notes as well as a still reductive character. Round and lush on the palate, this is an elegant, refined and salty Sp?tlese from the Hermansh?hle that develops a serious intensity and terroir expression even at this young age. Impressive yet still very sweet and more promising than already great. Persistently salty on the aftertaste. 8% alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in September 2021.

The 2017 Niederh?user Hermannsh?hle Riesling Sp?tlese offers a concentrated nose of stewed apricots and a hint of caramel and honey. Lush and elegant on the palate, this is a fine and pleasant, quite elegant Sp?tlese with a crystalline finish. This wine lacks a bit of complexity, but it is uncomplicated and already drinks very well today. Tasted from AP 35 18 in August 2019.

The 2016 Nahe Riesling Niederh?user Hermannsh?hle Sp?tlese opens with a noble bouquet that intermixes ripe and overripe fruit aromas with very delicate flinty notes. Round and lush on the palate, this is a very elegant and fine but generous (if not luscious) Sp?tlese with precise acid and piquant minerality. The lingering finish is salty, but the wine needs some years to gain even more finesse and elegance.

The 2015 Niederh?user Hermannsh?hle Riesling Sp?tlese is lovely, ripe, but still precise, and mineral on the nose where stony and flinty flavors are displayed along with remarkable complexity. On the palate, this lush and concentrated classic never feels heavy, due to the piquant and salty character. It is a gorgeous Sp?tlese, one of the finest 2015s of the domaine and probably one of the finest Nahe Sp?tleses from the region. Highly recommended.
