The 2003 Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from ripe grapes from a historical vineyard planted in 1963, and aged for two years in French oak barrels. The wine has ripe flavors of red cherries, but the wine does not transmit the warmth of the vintage and manages to keep a very good freshness. The nose has some notes of paprika, smoke, cured meats, leather and tea, quite classic and typical of a Mediterranean Cabernet. The tannins are fully resolved and the dry finish calls for some food. Drink now-2018.
Jean Leon belongs to the Torres family. They have revamped their image and they are using old black and white photographs as well as modernist Catalan designs on their labels.
