The nose of the 2013 Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva reveals strong aromatics, with notes of dried roses, incense, cigar ash, creamy oak and Mediterranean herbs, with a notable percentage of the aromas coming from the élevage. The palate reveals pungent flavors and piercing acidity that gives it an acute twist. 9,120 bottles produced.

The 2011 Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva was produced with grapes from eight hectares of vines planted in 1963 on soils rich in calcium carbonate and active limestone. The grapes fermented in stainless steel vats for 12 days followed by 18 days of maceration and malolactic, then the wine aged in French oak barrels for 27 months. The first vintage of this wine is 1969. There are always notes of garrigue, of Mediterranean underbrush, minty with a dusty, earthy touch. It has a tasty palate, fine tannins and good balance. The oak feels better integrated than in other recent vintages. 9,352 bottles were filled in June 2014.

The intensely oaky 2009 Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva showed some classical aromas of coconut and dill with an herbal twist over a core of ripe blackberries, with an attractive, commercial profile. The palate shows some creamy flavors and dusty tannins, that would show its best with food. It's still oaky after five years in bottle. 2, 757 bottles.

The 2003 Vinya La Scala Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from ripe grapes from a historical vineyard planted in 1963, and aged for two years in French oak barrels. The wine has ripe flavors of red cherries, but the wine does not transmit the warmth of the vintage and manages to keep a very good freshness. The nose has some notes of paprika, smoke, cured meats, leather and tea, quite classic and typical of a Mediterranean Cabernet. The tannins are fully resolved and the dry finish calls for some food.
