The 2020 The Bogan Shiraz is bright, juicy and succulent; the fruit in the mouth finishes soft and rounded. A flood of flavor. The 15% alcohol shows on the nose but is largely swallowed up on the palate by the fruit, a blessed thing. There is an attractive splay of raspberries, licorice and exotic spice through the finish.

Marked by scents of grilled meat, blackberries and dried spices, Kaesler's 2017 The Bogan Shiraz spent 15 months in 30% new oak (the balance was second and third use barrels). It's medium to full-bodied, supple and creamy on the palate, adding vanilla and plum notes to the mix and finishing long, with savory overtones.

Sourced from vines planted in 1899 and 1965, Kaesler's 2015 The Bogan Shiraz aged 15 months in 25% new oak. It's a full-bodied but balanced Shiraz, with big blueberry and blackberry flavors but also savory hints of wood, grilled meat and dried spices. Plush and almost creamy on the palate, it moves easily into a long, velvety finish that picks up hints of plum and licorice. Flattering now, it should still be going strong in a decade or more.

Firm, delivering cedar and roasted herb flavors, this has currant and dried berry notes mingling with fresh clay accents and taut tannins on the finish.
