This is 100% varietal, and shows quite a lot of barrel flavors—toast, licorice, clove, coffee and smoke. The fruit is less substantial, with the greenish herbaceous tendencies of the grape outrunning the sweet berry. It sails into a broad, leafy midpalate then quickly fades.——P.G.(11/1/2010)—— 85
