Produced from a vineyard dominated by slate, the 2001 Riesling Kabinett Munsterer Pittersberg reveals a nose of flowers, verbena, and bergamots (the pear-shaped orange used to flavor Earl Grey tea). Light to medium-bodied, this excellent value displays admirable depth to its delicately-strewn stony, floral, eucalyptus, and earthy personality. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
