Although the 1994 Zinfandel Old Vine Reserve Schoolhouse Creek Vineyard possesses tart acidity, it offers attractive, smoky, ripe, cranberry/curranty fruit in a medium-bodied format. This muscular, dark ruby/purple-colored wine exhibits excellent ripeness and depth of fruit. Rich, expansive, and chewy, the peppery, black-cherry and black-raspberry side of Zinfandel is well-displayed. There is excellent purity and an overall sense of balance to this big, full-bodied wine.
