The 2010 Reserva is a selection of old, head-pruned Tempranillo from higher-altitude zones, aged in French oak for one year (50% new). The wine has a commercial nose with abundant notes of spicy oak and lactic hints mixed with showy notes of red and black fruit. It is still marked by the barrels, but seems like the freshness provided by a very balanced year and the higher altitude of the vineyards is able to counteract the effect of the wood. One to wait for. Drink 2015-2018.
Legaris is the name of the Codorniu venture in Ribera del Duero. They produce close to one million bottles of well-oaked, modern wines.
