Leitz's 2019 Rheingau Riesling Eins, Zwei, Dry represents one of the region's most successful wines. Sourced from different soils such as loess, clay, sand, slate and quartz and bottled with 12% alcohol, this is a pure, fresh and intensely flavored Riesling with ripe white fruit aromas and sexy notes of crushed stones. Juicy and charmingly round on the palate, this is light, pleasant, filigreed and attractive Riesling without much tension, but it's easy and uncomplicated to quaff. If you like to save money but no divertimento, this is an attractive choice, even though the 2019 Rheingau Riesling from Weingut Leitz has more thrill and tension. Tasted from AP 2020 in April 2020.
