The 2011 Weemala Gewurztraminer offers up a textbook nose of lychees and baking spices with a tropical fruit and honeydew melon undercurrent. Medium to full-bodied, dry and with plenty of expressive spiced lychee flavor, it has a pleasantly viscous texture and refreshing acid, finishing long. Drinking nicely now, it should keep to 2014. Based to the north-east of Australia’s capital city of Canberra, the Lerida Estate vineyard was first planted in 1997 on the lower slopes of the Lake George Range with emphasis on Pinot Noir.Importers: Vignobles LVDH USA; tel.
