The 2006 Shiraz (60%) – Grenache (40%) “Twelve Staves” was aged for 18 months in old French and American oak. Dark ruby-colored, it exhibits a fragrant perfume of kirsch, blueberry muffin, tar, and licorice. Supple and sweet on the palate, it could use more depth and breadth, but is nevertheless a tasty wine for drinking over the next 6-8 years.
