The most backward and tannic offering is the 2006 St.-Joseph Cuvee Prestige de Caroline. Sweet black cherry, black currant, licorice, bouquet garni, and subtle spicy wood aromas are followed by an attractive, medium to full-bodied wine with light to moderate tannin. It has the potential to be outstanding after a few more years of bottle age.
Domaine Louis Cheze, an excellent estate in St.-Joseph, produces three cuvees, all of which merit attention.
