The 2012 Chablis comes from sand and clay soils, cropped at 58 hectoliters per hectare and sees 10 months in stainless steel. It has a very generous bouquet with lifted apricot blossom and orange zest aromas that are beautifully defined. The palate is fresh and clean with good acidity and vibrant lemon peel cutting through on the mineral-led, focused finish. Excellent. Drink now-2017.
It was a rather perverse showing of Louis Moreau’s Chablis wines, the lower ranking crus deserving of a light round of applause while the grand crus showed less well.
