The 2007 El Rincon Garnacha T features Garnacha Tintorera (aka Alicante Bouschet) in the starring role. Purple/black in color, it sports a brooding bouquet with notions of underbrush, brier, smoke, game, and assorted black fruits. Full-bodied on the palate, it reveals a smooth texture with its tannins well tamed, layered fruit, and exceptional length. It makes up in power for what it lacks in subtlety. There is no track record for longevity here but the wine’s balance suggests that it should drink well for another 8-10 years if not longer.
