The 2007 Valdano Aleatico Passito d'Elba Malvina dazzles the palate with layers of black cherries, sweet herbs and dried flowers. It possesses wonderful length and fabulous overall balance. This sweet wine from Elba is well worth seeking out. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017. This is a promising set of wines from Li Veli. It will be interesting to see what the Falvo family comes up with now that they have fully exited Avignonesi and are free to focus on their Puglia property.
