The jammy 2015 Elix has notes of cherries in liqueur and dried prunes. It's a blend of 40% Garnacha, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cari?ena and 7% Syrah. It's produced in the house style of very ripe, extracted and generously oaked wines. It has 15.5% alcohol. 4,500 bottles.

The 2009 Elix is a blend of Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carinena from La Solana, Bessons and Torroja del Priorat sub-regions. It is aged in oak from 18 months. The nose is showing some signs of over-ripeness, although it is not the worst example in 2009. The palate is full-bodied with soft, supple tannins and plush black fruits. It has an attractively sensual texture and a pleasing white pepper finish, but it is missing a little focus and backbone. Drink now-2018. Importer: The Eqwinerie; no telephone number available.
