The first impression of this Cab is that it’s way too young. It has plenty of flash in the ripe Cabernet fruit, rich oak, dense tannins and crisp acidity, but those tannins hold the wine in lockdown, and the parts are far from coming together. This is a very dry and well-balanced Cab with some very pedigreed origins. Not a blockbuster but oozes class. It provides elegant drinking now despite its tannins, yet seems destined to improve.——S.H.(10/1/2004)—— 91
