The 2021 Montepulciano d'Adelaide leads with a super sweet nose of raspberry coulis, red snakes, lavender, bay leaf and a hint of lemon thyme. On the palate, the fruit is as the nose suggests, with the added benefit of very fine tannins. An interesting and swift arc of evolution in the mouth leads to a quicker-than-expected roundoff of flavor through the finish. Like a floor gymnast. Ta da. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

The 2020 Montepulciano d'Adelaide is dusty and meaty, with black and red cherries both aromatically and in the mouth. The acidity is a little angular and the tannins a little edgy, but it's decent midweek drinking and is certainly good if you're looking for something that will give you uncomplicated drinking pleasure—a break from the usual. Drink up.

The 2018 Montepulciano d'Adelaide is a plush, ready-to-drink red. Featuring lifted scents of cedar and boysenberry, it then moves into a medium to full-bodied palate that's supple and generous yet bolstered by crisp, almost tangy acids on the lengthy finish. More complexity would be welcome, but this is still a satisfying, flavorful wine to drink over the short term.
