The 2022 The Tilbury Chardonnay is once again, a spicy, complex, taut rendition of the variety here in the Hills. Crushed curry leaf, red apple skins, briney acidity and lashings of stone fruits huddle on the very middle of the palate. Concentrated and lithe with leafy inflections (saltbush, tea leaves, bay leaf and a hint of tobacco), this manages to display expansion and containment in a single mouthful. Excellent, excellent Chardonnay. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

This 2021 The Tilbury Chardonnay brings a combination of creamy, pithy fruit and taut, almost lemongrass acidity to the mouth. It is a little bit crunchy, a little bit chewy and all manner of nice, with white tea, orchard fruit and citrus zest. Bright.
