The 2005 The Good Doctor Pinot Noir also spent ten months in a mix of new and used French oak. This cuvee is a selection of the best barrels in the cellar. Medium ruby-colored, the aromatics reveal a bit more oak as well as mineral, black cherry, and black raspberry. On the palate it is more structured and has better concentration and length than the Charleston bottling. It will evolve for 1-2 years and offer prime drinking from 2009 to 2016. The 2004 “The Good Doctor” Pinot Noir is a bit darker in color than the Charleston and more substantial on the palate with tasty cherry and raspberry fruit and some structure. The wine reveals tannin in the finish which time may not resolve.
