This is graceful and racy, its black cherry and blackberry fruit driven by bracing acidity. Dusty, mouthcoating tannins are present too, however this red has the requisite fruit to develop over the next decade or two. Crisp finish. The 2017 Pommard Village exhibits notes of spicy cherries, cassis and rich forest floor. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with ripe acids and youthfully chewy tannins that lend the wine a somewhat rustic edge. While time may be kind to it, there are finer cuvées in the Olivier Leflaive portfolio this year.
