The 2011 Hisenda Miret is pure Garnacha from a 29-year-old vineyard at 400 meters altitude which aged in a mixture of new and used French oak barrels for five months. It is very ripe, perhaps this region is too warm for Garnacha. The nose reveals heady, jammy fruit, and pungent aromas of black licorice and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, round and dense, with powerful, ripe flavors. Drink now-2017.
All Pares Balta grapes are organically certified, and some vineyards are already cultivated following biodynamic principles.
