The Perticaia 2020 Spoleto Trebbiano Spoletino Del Posto is a terrific wine with a set of aromas that are nothing short of Umbrian in character, including saffron, sage, wet clay and rosemary. Citrus and peach add freshness and cement a direct and highly drinkable style. The wine ages on the lees for 12 months, and you get a bit more texture and complexity as a result. This wine (with 6,000 bottles released) is lots of fun to drink.

A mid-weight white that would pair nicely with a grilled tuna steak, the Perticaia 2019 Spoleto Trebbiano Spoletino Del Posto is creamy and covers the palate nicely. There is a lot going on in this steel-aged Trebbiano, with spice, baked apple, pear and orchard fruit. This was a release of about 6,700 bottles.

Trebbiano Spoletino offers a rather neutral bouquet with stone fruit and Golden Delicious apple, but it also delivers good versatility for most easy food pairings. The 2016 Spoleto Trebbiano Spoletino Del Posto is a great lunch wine that delivers pretty fruit tones and enough natural acidity to cut through most sauces and dressings. Winemaking is very simple with stainless steel fermentations and some aging on the lees in steel. Production is 3,000 bottles.

This wine is richly redolent of sweet honey and fragrant saffron flower. Those aromas grow in intensity as the 2015 Spoleto Trebbiano Spoletino Del Posto warms and opens in the glass. It sits somewhere on the continuum closer to a dessert wine, and there is, in fact, a touch of residual sugar that adds to the weight and the creaminess of the mouthfeel. It undergoes 26 hours of skin contact during fermentation before being cold stabilized and aged on the lees for 12 months in stainless steel vats.
