A barrel selection from the Fourvier lieu-dit (located adjacent to Nève and below La Viallière), the 2018 Cote Rotie Emporium is as thrilling a Cote Rotie as I can remember from this estate. Vaguely floral on the nose, with vibrant notes of red raspberries and cranberries, it's medium to full-bodied, silky and long, with echoes of red berries and stone fruit on the finish.

Far more serious is the outstanding 2009 Cote Rotie Emporium. Abundant raspberry, forest floor and floral notes are accompanied by sweet tannin, a supple, medium to full-bodied texture and copious fruit and glycerin. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.
