Like some of the other new releases from Podere la Cappella, this wine feels a bit hot, and indeed it shows a 15% alcohol content. The 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Querciolo is draped in heavy fruit weight with cherry liqueur, dried grass, earth and black olive. To the palate, the wine is rich and a touch syrupy. Fruit comes from 23-year-old vines, and only 3,000 bottles were made.

The Podere la Cappella 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva Querciolo is a nicely intense, medium to full-bodied red wine from Tuscany. This expression shows the ripe, soft, playful and accessible side of Sangiovese and promises to make a great partner to your favorite grilled meats. The wine wraps over the palate with good richness and lots of dark fruit character.
