This is very pretty and energetic with flowers, lemon rind and cedar. Some dried fruits. The palate is medium-bodied with firm and racy tannins and a long and vivid finish. It builds nicely on the palate and gives a layered and velvety mouthfeel. Very attractive now but even better in 2028.

The Podere Paganico 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is a sultry and savory expression of Sangiovese. The wine makes excellent use of the vintage warmth and sunshine to present dark fruit tones of plum, blackberry and dried cherry. It shows a heavy center of gravity, framed by robust textural richness and succulent flavors. The finely grained tannins are integrated, and it all ends with bright freshness. All said and done, this tastes like a warm-vintage Brunello to enjoy with a cheesy ground-meat pasta.
