A 2004 Scharzhofberger Riesling Auslese “Fuder #4” A.P.#46 represents a subtle, creamy, and elegant expression of this great site. Peaches, honey, vanilla, herbal distillates, and almond paste are featured in the nose and on a palate that is mouthwatering and scintillating in its combination of brightness, juiciness, and creaminess. While this is marginally less invigorating and refined than the corresponding Spatlese, it exhibits the same uncanny poise and clarity.
