The 2017 Chardonnay has a toasty nose with warm apple, white peach, Bosc pear and stony notes. Medium-bodied, it offers good intensity of buttery/nutty fruits in the mouth with juicy acidity and a long finish.

The 2016 Chardonnay is a rich, flamboyant Chardonnay that remains in balance, offering up lots of creamy, toasty oak, cotton candy, spice and caramelized pear on the nose. On the palate, the medium to full-bodied wine reveals nice concentration, juicy acids and good length. Flavorful and intense, a touch more restraint with the new oak would see this score even higher.

The 2015 Chardonnay sports a toasty oak and butterscotch-laced nose over a core of ripe nectarines, pink grapefruit and guava. Medium to full-bodied with a pleasant oiliness to the texture, it offers a generous amount of stone fruit and oak-inspired flavors with satisfying persistence. It’s a little old school, but nicely done!

Rusack's 2014 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County is a charming, fruit-forward and classic effort that has lots of apple fruit and spice in a plump, medium-bodied, rounded and fruit-forward style that's hard to resist. Drink it over the coming 2-3 years.

Rusack's 2013 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County offers a classy bouquet of charcoal/flinty minerality, white peach and brioche to go with a medium-bodied, soft, forward and delicious style on the palate. Fermented and aged nine months in barrel (27% new), it's a terrific value that should be purchased by the case.
