The 2014 Sp?tburgunder Oberrotweiler Kirchberg GG is selected from 2.2 hectares of roughly 40-year-old vines on stony, magmatic soils with carbonatite. This Pinot Noir offers a clear and ripe, very intense and aromatic bouquet. It has of red and darker fruits along with delicate herbal, floral, refreshing and almost etheric lime aromas. Perfect concentration. This nose is super ripe but also really fresh, flinty and characterful because of 90% whole clusters. Silky, fresh and clear on the palate, this is a full-bodied, round and elegant Pinot of great intensity. The finish is very juicy and long, but also fresh and firmly-structured. This is a sensual wine of royal grand cru format. Highly recommended. Great finesse and mouthwatering fruit, very deep. This is a very generous Pinot Noir, but it is always the lightest of Konrad Salwey's grands crus. It comes from the shallowest soils and is picked earlier and with lower must weights, along with the Eichberg Pinot Noir.
