The 2008 Sangiovese is a more evolved dark plum color, with additional notes of herbs, loamy soil, and new saddle leather. It is a stylish, bistro/trattoria-styled wine meant for casual quaffing. Don’t expect anything complex or terribly deep, but it is delicious, well-made, and showcases this Italian varietal very nicely. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Among the great Italian heritage families in Northern California (and there are many of those), Seghesio continues to set a high standard for quality and attractive value.Tel.
