There is brilliant intensity of flavor here. The 2020 Inigo Cabernet Sauvignon is concentrated and lush, with a very pure core of black and blue fruit. It is surrounded by resin, char and tobacco leaf. There is a lovely draw of flavor across the palate, and the tannins really hold the fruit in good stead through the finish. This saw around 20% to 25% new French oak hogsheads, a mix of coopers. The skins in Clare are thick and very tannic, which gives the wines a stature and position in the mouth. This is firm, plush, concentrated and voluminous.

The 2017 Inigo Cabernet Sauvignon includes 7% Cabernet Franc and was matured in just 15% new oak. It's a cool, leafy, cassis-laden expression of Cabernet, with a medium-bodied feel on the palate, silky tannins and a crisp finish that shows just a hint of cocoa. Not one for the ages, it should be consumed young.
