The 2022 Shiraz is, as this wine usually is, incredibly aromatic. Raspberry coulis, cherry seeds, black pepper, dark chocolate and blackberry mingle as one. In the mouth, the tannins are powdery and ductile, a real treat from a warm vintage like 2022. This is lovely. It kind of has a milk-chocolate flow to the texture—seamless. Good. 14.1% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

There's a reason why Margaret River is better known for Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, and while Stella Bella's 2018 Shiraz is a solid wine, it's clearly second (or third) fiddle. Aromas of bay leaf and sage set off tart blackberry flavors, accented with hints of cedar and vanilla. It's medium-bodied and streamlined, with a crisp finish.

The 2017 Shiraz features scents of cracked pepper, black licorice and plummy fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, with a slightly creamy texture across the mid-palate and a complex, spice-laden finish. Drink it over the next couple of years.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2010 Shiraz displays a pronounced nose of blueberry compote and black cherry preserves accented by hints of black pepper, star anise and marmite toast. Medium to full-bodied, it reveals a generous amount of youthful black-fruit flavors and plenty of pepper and spice nuances that are supported by medium to firm, rounded tannins and refreshing acidity. Composed of 97% Shiraz and 3% Viognier, the 2009 Shiraz casts a deep garnet color and offers notes of warm blueberries, kirsch and blackberry tart with underlying black pepper, licorice and tar hints. Full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, it has a medium to firm level of rounded tannins and crisp acid, finishing long and peppery. Drinking now, it should keep to 2015.
