Stella’s 2007 Trebbiano d’Abruzzo possesses all of the attributes of this variety in miniature. White peaches, flowers and earthiness all come through in this small-scaled but tasty and correct Trebbiano. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2009. Stella is an excellent source for tasty wines under $10 a bottle. Importer Leonardo LoCascio personally selects the lots that a small group of partner wineries bottle on his behalf. The model of importer-created wines is on the rise, and quite frankly it is difficult if not impossible for most wineries to compete at this price point under a traditional business model. Stella excels in the varieties that are indigenous to the various regions where the wines are made.
