Perhaps a bit less firm than the 2015, Stonecroft's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is still a classically constructed wine with at least a decade of life ahead of it. Pencil shavings, tobacco and mint accent cassis notes on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is bolstered by firm yet ripe tannins and hints of red fruit. It finishes long, with soft dustings of cocoa powder and earth.

Although laced with cherry and cassis fruit, Stonecroft's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon bucks the drink-now Cabernet trend with a classically structured, tannic wine that should age well for at least a decade. It's medium to full-bodied, with fine-grained but firm tannins and shadings of cedar and vanilla framing ripe fruit, and it has a long, powerful finish.
